I came to Suzanne fresh out of my undergraduate studies. We discussed my goals (acceptance into a graduate school program, freeing any tension/bad habits from my voice, and improving my musicianship). She quickly assessed where I was in my technique and began working with me on various exercises to release unnecessary tension and sing with my authentic voice. Her knowledge of pedagogy, repertoire, and artistry is pleasantly perplexing. She possesses a seemingly infinite amount of tools in her kit; all exercises have a specific purpose, and she adapts her instruction for the optimal learning of each individual student. She is a patient, warm, and supportive teacher who creates a safe space for artistry to flourish. Her guidance was so pivotal to my development during an uncertain time. I studied with her for two years and was accepted into four graduate programs thanks to her mentorship.

As a parent I have watched my daughter love her experience with Suzanne. She is remarkable in what she does musically but possibly even more important than that is the love she has for her students. My daughter was accepted into the most challenging choirs in the state and is now pursuing a music career in college – with Suzanne’s support. I can’t say enough about her!

Suzanne was kind and understanding while also pushing me to be a better musician and not allowing me to make excuses when I fell short. I always know that I have someone behind me that will support me through my best and worst. Suzanne prepared me to take on my college career as a musician and gave to the tools to help other musicians as well.

Suzanne worked with me to not only learn how to sing, but how to sing with purpose and variety. I started my work with her in Highschool, and even now as a professional actor who sings I still keep in touch and work with Suzanne even to this day. A truly marvelous voice teacher who wants to push you to be your best. She has also become a great friend as well!

My son started lessons with Suzanne 18 months ago. At that time, he had never been part of a choir nor had he ever had any formal vocal training. In that short span of time, his voice has grown markedly stronger, his sight-reading has improved tremendously, and he has a newfound confidence in himself and his singing. He recently auditioned successfully for the Chamber Singers choir at Grandview High School for students who show a high level of vocal skill. Suzanne brings a pleasant blend of musical expertise and humor to her teaching that helps students feel comfortable and accelerates their learning. Also, in this time of COVID, the tele-lessons have been invaluable, and my son has seen no difference between in-person and online teaching. Suzanne is an extremely knowledgeable and truthful teacher. I can confidently say that she is the best voice teacher I have ever had. Suzanne is an amazing teacher, and I feel so lucky to have been her student. I took lessons all through high school and still do when I can. Suzanne not only cares passionately about her students but also has a deep knowledge and love for vocal music. After meeting Suzanne when she was a substitute teacher for my choir, I knew that she was the best person to come to for guidance on vocal technique and artistry. With a focus on classical and jazz vocals (among others), Suzanne provided me with training in diverse genres and styles. Her initial focus on technical skills and breathing allows Suzanne to ensure that you will reach your full vocal potential. Because of her, I was able to successfully audition for and participate in several auditioned choirs, including Cherry Creek High School’s Girls’ 21 and Colorado All-State Choir two years in a row. It must be noted that Suzanne truly inspired me both in the realm of voice but also in how to approach life. Suzanne is one of the most personable, approachable, and kind humans I know.
